Magnetic Gels

Magnetic gels — also known as cat-eye gels — contain fine magnetic particles that shift and align when you hold a magnet over the uncured gel. This creates a moving cat-eye line, a velvet glow, or a multi-dimensional halo / galaxy effect, depending on the magnet and technique you use.

What results can you get?

  • Classic cat-eye – a sharp, luminous line that “floats” inside the color
  • Velvet / satin finish – a soft, evenly diffused shimmer with a plush look
  • Halo / aura effects – a glowing center or edge highlight
  • 3D depth – layered magnet work for a dimensional, shifting appearance

How to use

  1. Apply a base and color (if recommended for your chosen look), then apply a thin, even layer of magnetic gel.
  2. Before curing, hold your magnet close to the nail (without touching) for a few seconds to shape the effect.
  3. Cure fully in a compatible UV/LED lamp (typical curing wavelengths are around 365–405 nm).
  4. Finish with top gel, then cure again.

Tip: Different magnets create different patterns (line, wave, starburst, velvet). Work one nail at a time so the effect doesn’t drift before curing.

Instructions

Use a magnet to manipulate the particles before curing, then cure according to the product guidance. Apply in thin layers for best control and consistent results. Always follow the curing time stated on the product page.
